Major Indian sweets like laddu, barfi, kheer, jalebi, halwa gulab jamun are displayed with topping of dry fruits in them. Preparations start two to three days before the actual wedding date, in the bride’s as well as the groom’s houses. Mehendi Ceremony is catching up in every wedding nowadays, where intricate drawings with henna are done on the hands and legs of the bride. ‘Sangeet” or the song and dance programmes go on till early hours of the morning, where all are free to perform and enjoy.

Indian weddings are quite expensive as every detail is paid attention too and invitees are many. The wedding goes on for a week or so, even after the main event. Bride’s parents spend a lot of

The festivities started with Mehendi, followed by a Sagri ceremony…

and a Sangeet for the bride’s side…

The next day, an oil ceremony for the groom…

And the groom’s Sangeet….

Finally the Sikh wedding ceremony, the Anand Karaj at Gurdwara Sahib Greentown…

And the final event, the reception
